Last weekend Liverpool’s iconic building St Georges Hall was bursting with some of the best up and coming designers that the North West has to offer.
The event gained a vast amount of support from businesses, with Harvey Nicolas Beauty Bazaar and the champagne company Moet sponsoring the event. The companies were giving away beauty samples and free champagne for all those with a VIP ticket, adding even more glamour to the weekend.
Some of the designers to grace the catwalk were Lavish Alice, Mode Mwah, Tracey Miller and John Lewis, who were advertising their new kids range.
The two collections that stood out the most were those from Lavish Alice and Mode Mwah. Lavish Alice’s collection was very elegant, with classic dresses and pantsuits given a modern twist. The dresses that were advertised on the catwalk were outfits that could go straight from the catwalk to the streets.
The collection from Mode Mwah was very out there, in terms of glamour. These pieces were all about the sequins and embellishment. As shown in Vogue in May, sequins are a big trend of Autumn/Winter 2016 and this collection definitely showed that this trend is here to stay for the season. The glamour that this collection conveys is perfect for a Christmas night out.
Also there was no shortage of famous faces at St Georges Hall this year. Cast members from shows such as The Real Housewives of Cheshire, Love Island, Hollyoaks and a few others watched the event over the weekend.
The success of the event proved to the audience that Liverpool designers are here to stay.
